Our Second Day in Munich

Travelling period: June 2014, I was 9 years old

The next day, we woke up even before the breakfast buffet opening. But, I felt thirsty. So, I asked dad to help me buy a bottle of water. When he came back, I drank the water and realized that it was carbonated water! I didn’t like it. We rested for a while then after a few minutes took a bath.  After we took a bath, we went to have breakfast. The breakfast had very few choices but we still had a wonderful time since there was wonderful music to entertain us. And also, the staff who worked there were very kind.

After we had our breakfast, we did a few touches to ourselves and then left the hotel and headed to a palace called Nyphemburg Palace. This palace is the summer residence of the rulers of Bavaria in the past. Before entering the palace, I played with some ducks and geese. After the tour around the palace, I fed the ducks and geese some food before leaving this wonderful scenery. I enjoyed my interactions with those ducks and geese. The palace had also a palace garden which was very beautiful. I played at the palace gardens a while before having a picnic. A garden picnic. We had a picnic there because we were very hungry. We then left the palace and headed back to our hotel to take a nap.

After we took a nap, we changed clothes and left our hotel. We were going to a monument called Friedensengel to see the Angel of Peace. But it was raining so we could not go there. We just ate dinner ate at Viktualienmarkt, a daily market in the city centre of Munich. It was a very noisy place with many stalls selling different types of foods. I ate fish and chips and the dish was really tasty. I did not really know what my parents ate, we rushed eating because it was raining. But, still we all had a wonderful time. After we ate your dinner we went back to our hotel.

Our First day in Munich

Travelling period: June 2014, I was 9 years old

We left our luggage bags at the reception and then went to a café to eat snacks at the café. The café was nearby and we ordered a few loaves of bread. I had chocolate doughnuts while Mom and Dad ate apple strudel. While eating there, an old man who was also eating there talked to us and told us about Munich and its history. We enthusiastically listened and thanked him after. We followed his suggestions to know more about the city.  First, we took a tram to the Alte Pinakothek Museum and we took pictures there. I also the realized they had high-tech trams and buses.

Alte Pinakothek Museum. After walking around the museum, we went to one of the tram stations called Karlplatz and took more pictures. After a few minutes, we were done. Oh, and I also played at a fountain near the station. It was lunch time so we decided to eat lunch there. The restaurant was at a small alley near Marienplatz. We ate Western food like chicken and some other delicious stuff. The food was very nice. The ambiance was very nice and the staff was very friendly. They were wearing normal waiter clothes.

After eating lunch, we went back to the hotel to check in. We brought our luggage bags to our room. But the room was still dirty. So, we asked the housekeeping to help us clean our room. The maids cleaned the room and after 30 minutes, it was ready. So we went in there and took a nap for few hours. When I woke up, I changed my clothes and we left our hotel and went back to the restaurant as I forgot and left my sunglasses there.  After the situation was solved, we went to Marienplatz.

While walking there, we took pictures at the few landmarks. One place we went to was Peterskirche. Soon, we arrived there. We took pictures at a Marienplatz City Hall. After we took the pictures there, we went to an old house called  and Justizpalast took pictures there too.

After that we watched a free concert near a fish market. It was actually a band. And their performance was quite cool. We then had dinner at a fish market. The surroundings were very noisy. And the food was very nice. That was why there was a lot of noise. Then we took pictures at the park. It was called Hofgarten. There was a lot of nature and it was very peaceful. We then walked back to our hotel and slept. It was very quiet and pitch black and I had my own bed beside a wall that had no wonderful view. I could not see anything.

Arriving Munich, Germany

Travelling period: June 2014, I was 9 years old

When we arrived in Munich, we went to the immigration.  When we saw the queue, I realized it was very long! But soon, we found a way to cut the queue. We did it by queuing up at multiple queues to find out which one was the fastest. Before we passed the immigration, the officer said some cool facts about my name. He told me that my name was a German name. After exiting the immigration, we then bought the tickets for the train. I realized it was quite cold while walking around the airport.

But when we arrived there, we did not need to pay the tickets for no reason. By that, we were surprised but happy that we did not need to do anything.  The trip was actually 8 stations but the route was less than 8 stops.  So, we were surprised but did not mind with it.  When we arrived, we exited the train and transferred.  After we transferred, we entered the train and then, we stopped at Marienplatz. There we transferred to another train and alighted at Universitat. We walked to our hotel. The walk was long but we finally reached our hotel. Our hard work was worthwhile. The name of the hotel is Das Hotel Munchen. When I entered the hotel, the noise level was quite low and I had a good impression of this hotel since the atmosphere was nice. But, the lifts were quite small. That was why we had to take the stairs. At the reception, the receptionist told us that we could not check in yet, as we arrived quite early. So, we had had to put our luggages on a trolley. Another good thing I realized was that the staff were very friendly. And, the matter was easily handled since the luggage trolleys the staff provided us were big.

Celebrating my 9th Birthday

In the plane. The flight to Munich was around 12 hours. I felt so sleepy that I slept almost all the time. But I still played some games using the plane’s gadget and being a bit productive.

Then, during the dark night, I woke up and saw one of the stewards with a birthday cake.  I was quite curious on what was going on. So, I asked my mom why they were giving me a cake. She told me it was my birthday.

All of a sudden, I jumped for joy sleepily and thanked my mom for this remembrance of me.  Not only there was a cake, there were some presents, too. There was a teddy bear and a few packets of chocolate sweets too.IMAG0362 Celebrating my 9th Birthday

There one last thing I saw was a card. I opened it. And saw many names and good wishes for me.  I felt very thankful and happy. A few hours later, we arrived in Munich, Germany.
